On Saturday 23 November 2024, the Palasport in Genoa will host the prestigious Freddy Grand Prix of Gymnastics, a highly anticipated event for sports lovers, where the Italian stars of gymnastics will compete in an atmosphere of celebration and competition.
Among the protagonists, the Italian Olympic champions stand out, such as Alice D’Amato, winner of the first Italian women’s gold on the beam, and the “Fairies” of women’s artistic gymnastics Angela Andreoli, Manila Esposito, Elisa Iorio and Giorgia Villa, who won their second Olympic silver in the women’s team competition after 96 years.
At the Grand Prix we will also see Sofia Raffaeli, who won a historic bronze in the rhythmic gymnastics all-around, bringing Italy to the podium for the first time in this discipline, and the “Butterflies” of rhythmic gymnastics: Alessia Maurelli, Martina Centofanti, Agnese Duranti, Daniela Mogurean and Laura Paris, with reserve Alessia Russo, bronze medals in the team competition. Milena Baldassarri, finalist at the Tokyo and Paris Olympics, will also be present.
In addition to the women's team, there will also be the men's national team, which achieved an exceptional result with sixth place at the Olympics, its best placing since 1992. Among the male protagonists there will be Yumin Abbadini, Mario Macchiati, Lorenzo Minh Casali and Carlo Macchini, who will show their talent in the various disciplines of artistic gymnastics. Milena Baldassarri, finalist at the Tokyo and Paris Olympics, will also be present.
The challenges will be interspersed with choreographed performances under the artistic direction of Emanuela Maccarani and will also involve the non-Olympic sections, with aerobic and acrobatic gymnastics performances and the promotional one of Gymnastics for All, for a total celebration of this sport.
The event will see a special participation of the young singer Sarah, famous for her hit “Sexy Magica” and considered a promise of Italian pop. With her energy and charisma, Sarah will bring some of her hits to the stage, giving a touch of unique spectacle and entertainment to the Freddy Grand Prix of Gymnastics.
